法國超市折價販賣醜陋蔬果以對抗食物浪費French supermarket sells ugly fruit and vegetables at discount to combat food waste

In March of this year, shoppers in Provins, France, were presented with an unusual sight in their local Intermarché supermarket：rack upon rack of "ugly" fresh fruits and vegetables, including disfigured eggplants, ridiculous potatoes, grotesque apples, ugly carrots and so on.

The operation was a hit. Since then, the supermarket chain has repeated the operation in a dozen of its Parisian stores and other French retailers were quick to follow in the chain’s footsteps.
